The FA Cup is Tottenham’s last chance at domestic glory this season, so expect them to involve every resource they have in order to beat Villa and reach the Round of 16.

Tottenham are one of the most unpredictable teams in England. They are fresh from a painful elimination in the League Cup against Liverpool and much closer to the relegation spots in the Premier League than they are to the much-desired European seats.

My analysis

Aston Villa lost Colombian striker Jhon Duran in January. The South American was the subject of the most expensive winter transfer worldwide, after Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia paid $80m to secure his services.

Duran had scored 12 goals in 29 games for Villa this season and was highly-rated among the Villa supporters. But Villa’s attacking strength has not vanished with Duran’s contributions now off to the Gulf.

Also, in January, Villa added three great attacking players to their roster. Marcus Rashford from Man United, Marco Asensio from PSG and Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund all joined Unai Emery’s side.

Each of them is eager to kick off their lives in Birmingham in style. All of them are considered to start against Tottenham on Sunday, also considering that Ollie Watkins is unavailable up-front.

Villa have scored at least two goals in five of their last six home matches in all competitions. In Tottenham, they’ll face an opponent who’s shaking in defense.
