The Spanish midfielder has been out since September with a serious knee injury but could still play a role this season.

Rodri ruptured his ACL during a 2-2 draw against Arsenal, and early reports suggested he would miss the entire campaign.

Clubs can make three squad changes before the knockout rounds. With Kyle Walker moving to AC Milan, City have room to add new signings like Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov. Guardiola wants to use the final spot for Rodri, betting on his recovery.

Rodri recently hinted at an early return, stating, “My target is to come back this season. I don’t give up.”

His absence was felt as City struggled during the winter months. The team lost nine out of 12 matches without him, raising concerns about their form.
